As a business manager, you support the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the different management teams and departments in their daily activities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-paced, international and multi-faceted environment, which involves strategic, creative, as well as operational tasks.
Salary depends on experience and knowledge and will be between €6.350 and €9.000 based on working 36 hours a week. This is without holiday allowance and 13th month. The contract is based on a 40-hour work week.
What you’re going to do
This unique role is a blend of leadership support, communications, operations, strategy, and project management. You are the ‘right hand’ person and sounding board to the CRO, as well as a valued participant in the management team meetings of Group Risk, and a trusted and thoughtful advisor to colleagues. In this role you are the ‘spider in the web’ – helping to connect the dots between colleagues, teams and projects, and to drive engagement, alignment and efficiency.
A considerable amount of your time will be spent on contributing to dynamic and shared priorities, both before the footlights and behind the scenes.
- You support the CRO in the smooth management of day to day affairs and help tackle a variety of management problems. You are the central point of contact for a range of different topics in the risk portfolio and help determine their impact on stakeholders and the actions to be taken
- You manage and lead the Group Risk Support team and you are part of the MT Group Risk. You take part in risk management team meetings, help facilitate effective decision making and take follow-up actions
- You maintain a birds-eye view of the Group Risk organisation, connecting the dots across teams, listening to the pulse of the departments, and improving coordination and communication across areas
- You take part in and help steer defined projects, including strategic advisory and execution and change management. You provide support for the coordination of different processes, such as strategic and financial planning processes, ECF reporting, issue management, or organisational changes
- You coordinate CRO relations with regards to organisations, forums, or external agencies. You support with communications and presentations, e.g. rating agencies presentations, investor updates, strategic MB proposals, Town Halls, etc.

The Group CRO is a member of the NN Group Management Board (MB). In your daily work, you will interact with different teams, business units and senior management.

Who you are
You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and you are able to professionally interact with a wide range of contacts, both internal and external – in different cultural, functional and geographical areas.
- You are a strategic thinker; structured and organized with proven business analysis and coordination skills
- You are proactive and taking the lead in daily business and assignments with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- You have a passion for topics in the CRO portfolio
- You act with integrity and diplomacy in different circumstances and in a high pressure environment with a broad stakeholder group
- You have a minimum of 5-7 years relevant working experience in insurance / risk management and are fluent in English (verbal and written)
