As Risk Officer Operational Risk Management (ORM), you ensure that the organisation effectively manages operational risks by performing incident analyses, supporting thematic reviews, providing input for quarterly reporting, and conducting independent reviews of RCSA results to identify vulnerabilities in processes and execution.
You track trends in incidents and operational performance and advise departments on root causes, control measures and improvement actions. You prepare clear incident reports, RCA analyses and risk briefings. In addition, you manage incident and action documentation, validate data with the involved teams, and support governance and audit processes. You also contribute to the further development of evaluation templates, RCA methodologies and standard procedures.
As Risk Officer ORM within the organisation, you will:
- Perform incident evaluations, collect data, analyse trends and prepare independent reports.
- Lead and support thematic deep‑dive analyses into recurring incidents or structural issues.
- Provide analyses for quarterly reports on performance, execution and operational risks, and prepare ad‑hoc briefings.
- Monitor KRIs and early‑warning indicators and develop escalation analyses for senior leadership.
- Review the quality of RCSA submissions, identify gaps in controls and assurance, and follow up on action plans.

You are an analytical, service‑oriented professional with a strong eye for detail and process quality. You work effectively with operational teams while maintaining second‑line independence; you facilitate RCA sessions with confidence and translate technical findings into clear, actionable outcomes. You are comfortable in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and are driven to continuously improve processes and tooling. In addition, you have:
- 4–7 years of experience in operational risk management, incident investigation, HSE, reliability, quality or programme assurance; experience in heavy industry or manufacturing is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Safety, Risk Management, Business or a related discipline.
- Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, IRM, or a recognised incident investigation certificate.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI / Tableau) and GRC systems; experience with RCA tools and process‑mapping techniques.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills in both Dutch and English.
Jouw werkomgeving
You work within the Operational Risk Management team of the Risk department. On a daily basis, you collaborate with Operations, HSE, IT, Project Teams and Plant Management to analyse and follow up on incidents, KRIs and RCSA outputs.
